You don’t need to know the difference between a three-card and a Celtic cross spread to get the most out of a tarot card reading. All you need: your Sun sign! Here’s what I do: Shuffle my tarot deck and pull out the cards in order from Aries to Pisces, plus one general card for everyone so that you can get specific advice around your personality. Let’s go!
A GENERAL CARD FOR EVERYONE: PAGE OF CUPS
A wide-eyed sense of wonder swirls around the lovely Page of Cups, which invites us all to connect to our inner child this week. The holiday season is in sight, which can activate magical memories, events, and themes. Enjoy the month. Plan a holiday party with your friends or family. Celebrate the year in review. Snuggle up under a blanket and rewatch your favorite seasonal movie. Be a child again and activate your playful side. It’s not very often that seasonal events allow us the freedom to play, party, and celebrate. Lean in to this positivity and spread it even further.
ARIES: PAGE OF WANDS
Finish what you started, Aries. Too often, the final few weeks of the year find you constantly saying, “Let’s put this on hold til after the New Year.” You’re only delaying the pain, and you’re potentially getting 2024 off to a negative start. Aim to get as much done as you can before year ends. Either start completing your to-do list or give up on tasks for good, so you can start 2024 with a clean slate. The Page of Wands will help you out with energy and ideas. Be open-minded and creative.
TAURUS: SEVEN OF CUPS
Whatever is in your imagination is worthy of attention and action. Fantasies can be blueprints. Why ignore them? Your imagination is a unique playground, capturing all of your desires, quirks, and needs. The Seven of Cups asks you to get your journal out and write it all down. Create a story of how you want things to be. Believe in this narrative, see what it would take to get there, and then figure out how to take the first step. This is a potential new era for you.
GEMINI: THE TOWER
So, something happened. Something that felt shocking or negative or damaging, and you have grieved whatever was lost. It’s time to pick up the pieces, figure out the lessons, see the silver lining, and make a plan to mvoe forward. LIBRA: TEN OF CUPS
That Ten of Cups must be music to your ears, Libra, because if ever Venus (your ruler) had a card in the tarot, it’s this one. The Ten of Cups represents romance, happily-ever-afters, passion, intimacy, loyalty, and love. Revel in your relationships this week. Spend quality time with your partner or loved ones, create magic memories, and tell them how you feel. The Ten of Cups helps you manifest the love life and friendship circle you really truly want to have. Be bold, be honest, and be positive.
SCORPIO: STRENGTH
Strength is a powerful card reassuring you that you’ve got what it takes. Think about what you’ve already overcome in life and what other people have said about your independence, fortitude, and resilience. Knowing that you’re unstoppable… what would you do? Whatever your biggest goal is, now is the time to make an earnest push in its direction. You’ve summoned all the right powers to make this dream come true. Have faith in yourself and act accordingly.
SAGITTARIUS: KING OF PENTACLES
Health, wealth, home, and work: These are the fundamentals of a secure and happy life. Without certainty in these areas, you can find yourself struggling. Be grateful for what you have. Acknowledge what you need and how you can get it. Make changes where you can. The King of Pentacles sees you being strong, pragmatic, honest, and objective. You have a clear sense of where you are and a deep motivation to improve things. You are already a strong person, and you’re only getting stronger by the year.
CAPRICORN: FIVE OF CUPS
You might experience a momentary blip this week, a moment of grief, regret, or self-doubt about a loss or setback that you thought you’d dealt with. It’s an echo, that’s all. Don’t lean into it and embark on a spiral of doom. Don’t start undermining your confidence and satisfaction. The Five of Cups reminds us that we are, essentially, emotional animals. Our feelings affect us deeply, and we have to learn to live with that. Know that a bad mood is coming, prepare a distraction, and take care of yourself. It’ll pass.
AQUARIUS: THE HIGH PRIESTESS
Sometimes this card bums people out because it basically means, “You already have the answers!” And that doesn’t feel like an actual answer. But maybe you are actually relieved to hear you are aligned with your intuition and inner wisdom. You don’t need advice, outside input, or external influences right now. You need peace, quiet, and an opportunity to listen to your inner voice.
PISCES: DEATH
Death is a wonderful card signalling the start of a period of transformation. This will upend and re-direct your life towards a new, fulfilling chapter. Don’t fight this. Don’t cling to the old. Let new ideas flow. Release whatever doesn’t serve you any longer. Be open-minded and adaptable to the new energy swirling around you, nudging you in a new direction. Better yet, start this process yourself by ending something you’re tired of and seeking a replacement.
