Ahmedabad: A 40-year-old tarot card reader from Vastrapur on Thursday filed a complaint at Cybercrime police station, alleging that a man who had inquired about her services was stalking her and harassing her over the phone.

Tarot card reader harassed by stalker

On July 28, a man who introduced himself as Naresh called her from a mobile phone and inquired about her services and charges. He then said her charges were too high and began bargaining. When she told him they were non-negotiable, he hung up. Later, he began sending her messages and making missed calls to harass her, the FIR states.
The complainant said the man began to tease her and asked her to enter a relationship. Even after she warned him that she would file a police complaint, he continued to call and message her.
On August 7, she filed a complaint with the cybercrime helpline, after which the man did not call or send messages for some days.
On September 8, Naresh called her from another number but as she recognized his voice, she disconnected the call. He continued to send messages to her, insisting that she meet him. He told her he had come to the city from Bhavnagar and wanted to meet her. She said he even had a bouquet sent to her office.
The woman approached Cybercrime police station and filed a complaint for stalking.
