Aparna Tilak, who quit acting 17 years ago, is now a Tarot card reader. The actress is based in UAE and travels to Mumbai sometimes. Recently we bumped into her and in a chat, she shared why she quit showbiz and shifted to another country.
Aparna said, “I started acting in the late 1990s and did shows like Left Right Left and Kohi Apna Sa. Before that, I was into modelling, and doing theatre and was also part of a few music videos. So after working for a few years in showbiz, I decided to do something else and spend some time at home which I was missing because of my work schedule. But what surprises me is that people still remember me by my character names and the shows that I have done and I feel grateful for that.”
Aparna moved to UAE with her husband a few years back. She shared, “My husband and I moved to UAE and he got to work there as a urologist, so we are settled there. I started a new life in a new country and acting took a backseat. I moved closer to my mom who lives in Dubai and that’s what I wanted.”

The actress is now a Tarot card reader, but does she want to get back to acting someday? She replied, “I am on a journey of healing people and I feel that the right things happen at the right time. I have never closed the doors to any opportunity in the future, but currently, I am enjoying what I do. If acting is on the cards in the future, I will decide at that time.”
